Common Sense is not actually common

Common sense is a term that's often thrown around, but if you've been alive long enough then you will slowly come to realize that it's not as common as its name suggests.

Here are a few reasons why society says that common sense is not as common as one might think:

  • Cultural Differences: What's considered common sense in one culture might be completely illogical in another. For example, the etiquette for greeting someone or expressing gratitude can vary significantly across different societies. Fascinating right? Except this can be somewhat easily remedied with a simple google search in order to gain proper understanding of someone else's culture so as to not accidentally offend them or just asking politely for clarification.
  • Individual Experiences: Our personal experiences shape our understanding of the world and what we consider to be common sense. Someone who has grown up in a rural area may have a different idea of common sense than someone who has lived in a big city. Well I won't argue with this point it's pretty solid.
  • Changing Times: What was considered common sense in the past may no longer be relevant today. Technological advancements, social changes, and shifts in values can all impact our understanding of the world. True but a lot of people have an acute sense of entitlement in today's society that runs deep and means that their understanding of common sense is null and void just like their sense of logic and compassion.

It's important to remember that common sense is a subjective concept and should be approached with caution. It's often better to rely on evidence, logic, and critical thinking when making decisions. But of course people nowadays have a hard time understanding even this much so it would appear that we are all doomed.
