Is it beneficial to try and live life above your means?

So, I saw a post on Instagram recently by a creator who stated that she was invested in living her daily life above her means. In her honest opinion even though she was spending money she did not have; on things she really could not afford she firmly believed that life was just too short to limit her happiness simply because she could not afford her chosen lifestyle.

Now I’ll be real I know a few people who think like this creator and while I myself have always thought that trying to live life beyond your means was a really bad idea with damaging long term consequences and even though I’m still not necessarily convinced that this young lady is right in way of thinking, the more I think about it the more I realize that at least home girl is living, at least she’s out there trying new things and traveling to lots of places and finding her happiness even if it means that she’ll probably be in a whole lot of debt sooner rather than later.

Now truthfully her bank account may soon be as empty as mine is presently, but the thing is at least she’s finding her bliss. Lord knows I’m nowhere near as happy as she is or as content or fulfilled (assuming that she is fulfilled with her life choices) but I can at least admire her for being able to find her joy and live in her chosen truth. It’s the fact that we’re both broke but she’s at least happy while I’m sad that has me wondering does she have a point in living and enjoying your life to the fullest even if it means spending your last dollar? I don’t know what do you guys think?

Trial and error, I guess.
